What To Expect at Your First SBB Meeting

What to expect at your first Spokane Business Builders' Meeting

Arrive at Bangkok Thai Restaurant located at 1003 E. Trent Ave. between 6:50 a.m. and 7:00 a.m.

You will be greeted at the front door by a Spokane Business Builder member who will warmly greet you and direct you to the area of the restaurant where our meeting is held.

The guest sign in sheet and guest name tags are located on the first table on the left when you enter our meeting room. Please sign in and put on a name tag.

Members and guests mingle and enjoy coffee and juice until 7:05 a.m. when they are called to the breakfast buffet.

Members and guests serve themselves and take their seats for the meeting.

The meeting starts promptly at 7:17 a.m.

Sergeant at Arms leads the chapter in pledge of allegiance.

A member is asked to stand and read the Spokane Business Builders' Mission Statement.

Officers and Committee Chairs are asked to stand and introduce themselves.

Our Referral Chair is asked to stand and read the definition of a referral and how to distribute the three copies of the referral form.

Members are asked to stand and introduce their guests.

Guests are asked to stand and repeat their name, the name of their business and its location.

Members and guests are asked to pass their business cards to the left.

The two members that were assigned call 5 take $5.00 stand and report on the five non-member businesses they called to explain who we are, the benefits of being a member of Spokane Business Builders and extend an invitation to a meeting.

The Vice President is asked to stand and introduce our member Speaker of The Week.

Member Speaker stands and gives a 7-½ minute presentation on their business.

If there are new members to induct, the President asks them to stand and awards card caddie and membership badge.

President asks Secret Greeter to stand and instructs all members who did not shake the Secret Greeters' hand to put one dollar in the bucket when it comes around (guests are exempt from all fines).

President asks for committee reports.

President asks for a volunteer to stand and recap the prior week's Speaker's presentation.

President asks Membership Chair if there are any inspections to report and/or potential new members to be voted on.

Sergeant at Arms stands and gives a 30 second commercial on his/her business. If the person giving their commercial does not have a referral for a member in the group they deposit one dollar in the bucket (guests are exempt from all fines).

The bucket is passed from one member to the next until each member and guest has had an opportunity to give their 30-second commercial.

President announces which member has the Tradeshow for the week and members are encouraged to stop by the member's Tradeshow as they exit the meeting.

Meeting concludes with President making announcements for the next week's meeting assignments: Greeter, Call 5 Take $5.00, Speaker, and Tradeshow.
